What scholarships and grants are available to online theology master’s students?

  • Lilly Scholarships for Religion: This non-renewable award of $5,000 is available to students in the U.S. and Canada who plan to enroll in an accredited religious institution and are currently employed as full-time journalists.
  • Dora Maclellan Brown Ministry Scholarship Program: Applicants for this award must hail from the Chattanooga, TN area and be pursuing a master’s degree from an institution that has been approved by The Generosity Trust.
  • Jewish Community Centers of North America Scholarship: This award of up to $10,000 per year for two years of graduate-level education is available to students of the Jewish faith pursuing master’s degrees in a wide range of fields, including theology.
  • Stoody-West Fellowship: This $6,000 award is intended to support post-graduate students at accredited institutions who are pursuing careers in religious journalism.
  • Ed E. and Gladys Hurley Foundation Grant: Men and women of all college levels who demonstrate financial need and attend school in the state of Texas with plans to pursue a career in religious studies are eligible for this $1,000 grant award.
  • Lucius Moody Bristol Graduate Fellows in Religion: Recipients of this two-year fellowship, reserved for graduate students at Florida State University, receive full tuition waivers and a $14,000-$15,000 annual stipend.
